Abstract

Introduction: The increment of the costs for attention of health has motivated the change of mentality in the professionals of the medicine, with a view to taking the cares from the hospital to the house. Objective: To give to know the influence for the ambulatory nutritional therapy on the patient's so much different aspects as of the institutions of health and the society in general. Methods: Was carried out a wide revision documented on the development of the techniques of nutritional support as much enteral as parenteral, as well as the new concepts have more than enough ambulatory nutrition or at home. It was looked for in MEDLINE, PubMed, Cochrane Library, ClinicalKey, SumSearch and Trip Database controlled clinical rehearsals (2000-present time) and recent goal-analysis that evaluated the effectiveness of the ambulatory nutrition in improvement of the costs hospital, smaller morbilidad and improvement of the nutritional state and of the quality of the patients' life that require it. Results and conclusions: The nutritional therapy at home, when associating with decrease of the costs hospital and better quality of life for the patient, is increased in function of the creation of regulations and of the improvement of the systems of cares to home.
