Introduction. The QT interval prolongation constitutes a predictive parameter of per operatory sudden cardiac death or of arrhythmias that can precede this event. Objective. To determine the effect of the Propofol on the QT interval in patients with cardiac ischemia operated of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Material and Method. Was carried out a descriptive and prospective study in twenty-two patients during the first trimester of the 2016 in the Calixto Garcia´s University Hospital. Values of the QT and corrected QT were determined using formula of Bazett. They were compared with the prospective ones for frequency and sex, determining if they were shortened, normal or lengthened in each one of the five carried out mensurations. Alterations of the rhythm, hemodynamic repercussion and changes were determined in the segment ST. Results. The biggest number of patients had ages among 40-59 years with prevalence of the feminine sex. The values of corrected QT stayed normal or low, the duration of the QT in connection with the heart frequency in men and women according to reference charts, inside range of normality and the comparison of the basal values of QT with the times studied in tendency form was increased in all, besides the appearance of abrupt changes in the same one without being presented alterations of the rhythm neither changes in the segment ST. They were not significant hemodynamic alterations. Conclusion. It was sure the use of the Propofol in patients with cardiac ischemia, based on the proposed objectives, but the tendency to increase their duration and the abrupt changes found ago necessary to recommend the realization of wider studies.
